Task Management

The run sheet says what happens at 14:30. Your task list says what has to be done before it can. Chronolio now holds both, in the same place.

Tasks that know where they belong

Most to-do lists float free of the plan they serve. Chronolio tasks attach at whichever level makes sense: to a specific timeline item ("confirm the PA system" sits on the ceremony), to a whole event ("send the final headcount" belongs to the wedding, not to any one moment), or to nothing at all — a general task for the work that spans your whole business. The result is a list you can read two ways: everything you owe this event, or everything you owe today.

Priority, due dates, and the things you forgot

Each task carries a priority — High, Medium, Low, or none — plus an optional due date and free-text notes for the detail that never fits in a title. Your dashboard surfaces the tasks that need attention using the order that actually matters: overdue first, then by priority, then by what falls due soonest. The thing you forgot two weeks ago is the first thing you see, not something buried at the bottom of a list sorted alphabetically.

Assign work to the vendors already on your timeline

A task can be assigned to any vendor attached to the event, drawn from the contacts you have already set up — no duplicate address book, no new records to maintain. "Chase the florist for a delivery window" is attached to the florist. When you are scanning the list a week out, you can see at a glance which supplier each open item is waiting on.

Filter down to the question you are actually asking

The tasks page filters by timeline, by status, and by priority, and sorts by priority, due date, timeline, or when the task was created. "What is still open on the Krige wedding?" and "what is high priority across everything this month?" are both two clicks away. Inside the timeline editor, a view toggle shows tasks inline on the items they belong to, so the run sheet and the prep work can be read together when you want them together — and separately when you do not.

Private by default when you share

Your task list is your working document, and it stays yours. Tasks are hidden from public share links unless you deliberately turn them on for that timeline — so the client opening your link sees the polished schedule, not the reminder to chase their outstanding balance. When sharing tasks is useful, such as a crew view for the setup team, it is a single switch.
